Banca Generali: international rating agency MSCI raises rating from "BBB" to "A"

MSCI, a leading international ESG rating company that analyzes nearly 3 thousand companies globally, has raised Banca Generali's rating from BBB to A, placing the bank at levels of excellence for issues of governance, training and attention to sustainability. Among the main reasons for the rating improvement is the path of alignment with UN, OECD and EU principles on sustainability issues, as well as the development and implementation of work-life balance policies and environmental goals included in the business plan.

Over the past 5 years, Banca Generali has upgraded its MSCI rating by 4 levels.

This upgrade is part of a broader and more structured path of Banca Generali that has seen it excel globally also with the famous rating company Sustainalytics and with the entry, since its establishment, in the MIB ESG index of Borsa Italiana.

Carmelo Reale, General Counsel and Head of Group Sustainability Area, commented, "The rating increase provided by MSCI confirms Banca Generali's positioning among the most sustainable banks in Europe and follows the trajectory already confirmed by the other most important international rating agencies such as Sustainalytics, Standard Ethics and Vigeo Moody's. We are delighted with this further confirmation and will continue to ensure an increasingly constructive dialogue with all ESG rating agencies."
